A moment with William Beaudine
William "One Shot" Beaudine was one of the most prolific directors in Hollywood. He was a no-nonsense professional who was able to crank out films in as little as five days. Even by low budget production company standards, Beaudine was remarkable. It was said that he typically only made one take of a scene -- sometimes leaving in actors' mistakes or scenery flubs or special effects that didn't pull off correctly.
He specialized in low budget B-movies including some the Charlie Chan, and East Side Kids series. Later he moved to TV with equal deft ability and directed many first rate productions including some of Disneyland and Lassie.
His career spanned over 60 years. Amazing to watch his skilled hand here.

Really enjoyed it.
Good comedy, good mystery, decent acting, not a waste of time. Four stars.

Great comedy
Byron Foulger takes the honours as a mild mannered wig-maker caught up in a blackmail plot which turns to murder. As a mystery, it's all a bit far-fetched but there are some great comedy moments along the way, including an hilarious police identity parade and a temperamental operatic tenor who could have been related to Lassparri in the Marx brothers' Night at the Opera.
